We were on our way to a 3 day convention, which we go to every year. It's absolutely wonderful, but it can be a challenge for the kids to sit for several hours at a time, when they are used to being on the go. So, a few weeks before, the girls and I set out to the dollar store (we are their #1 customers, I'm sure) to buy some quiet activities for them. One thing I had decided on was making them their own sticker matching books.
We purchased a big set of stickers, which had multiples of each one, and 2 sparkly notebooks. What girl doesn't want a little sparkle?

Each child got her own notebook, and we customized it based on their skill level.
Boo's was strictly matching - finding the pair.
Honey's was a bit more challenging. She had different tasks in her book. The first few pages were matching upper and lower case letters.
She then had some patterning pages.

With the few stickers that were loners, we made some "complete the picture" pages, and some writing practice.
To make life easier, I used 2 of the sheets from the sticker pack, and made each child a sheet of their required stickers to complete the book. We just tucked the sheet into a page protector in the binders they had, and it turned out to be hours of entertainment for them.
Who knew $3 and a bit of time could make something to keep them quiet for so long! They were actually incredibly quiet all 3 days of our convention, which allowed hubby and I to enjoy it.
Here's a quick glance at some of the other things we included in their quiet bags.

I hope this idea comes in handy for someone else! It would be great for long car trips, plane ride, or other times you need your child to be entertained and quiet!
